The Lineup (1958 TC)

Original 1958 Title Card. Don Siegel directed San Francisco California drug smuggling crime film noir "The big lineup of thrills comes to the big movie theatre screen!" "Based upon the CBS television series 'The Lineup'" starring Eli Wallach ("The sensation of 'Baby Doll'... as the killer!"), and co-starring Robert Keith and Warner Anderson ("as Lt. Guthrie"). Note that this was based on a popular police TV series called "The Lineup" (which was renamed "San Francisco Beat" in syndication) that ran from 1954 to 1960. Columbia hired Don Siegel, who had directed the pilot and several episodes of the TV series, to do this movie, and to highlight the connection to the TV show, they insisted that several of the main characters from the TV show reprise their roles in this movie.
