Poster Condition
Fudali Galleries grades posters on a scale from "Fine" (highest grade) to "Poor" (lowest grade). We do not grade on an alphabetical or numerical scale, nor do we use terms like "Mint." We strive to provide accurate descriptions of poster condition but encourage customers to contact us if there are any condition questions or concerns. Most vintage posters have some writing, marks, stamps or other notations on the reverse side but our descriptions typically will NOT include these unless they impact the front of the poster. Below are our poster condition grades from "Fine" to "Poor."
"Fine"
This poster is in excellent condition. If anything it has only the most minor of imperfections. "Fine" is our highest grade. If we used terms like "mint" or "near mint," this would be it.
"Very Good to Fine"
This poster has only very minor imperfections. We may have provided a brief description of those imperfections, or we may not have, since they are very minor. Our "Very Good to Fine" grade compares to many dealers' "Fine" condition grade.
"Very Good"

"Good To Very Good"

"Linen Backed" Posters
"Linen backing" is a process that is used to preserve vintage posters. The poster is cleaned, often de-acidified, and mounted on archival acid free paper and linen or canvas. The linen backing process preserves vintage movie posters and facilitates restoration prior to framing. When linen backing is done correctly, it can add to the value of the poster. Our descriptions of linen backed poster condition are the poster condition PRIOR to linen backing and restoration.
