Lime Rock Park 1957-1992, 35 Years of Racing History Poster. Great montage of Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Connecticut, racing history. Lime Rock opened in 1957 on the site of a former sand and gravel quarry and the original track layout has remained ever since. Set in bucolic Northwest Connecticut, the park has hosted most every major American road racing sanctioning body including the American Le Mans Series, IMSA, Grand-Am, NASCAR, SCCA, Trans AM, and World Challenge. Notable celebrities who have raced at Lime Rock include Paul Newman, James Garner and Dickie Smothers.
